Selection Criteria for the Coaching Staff of the U16 and U18 Provincial Teams Program Objectives Football New Brunswick’s provincial teams are designed to select, train and develop the best football players in their age class in New Brunswick. The selection of coaches for these programs is critical for the program’s success. The selected coaches will provide positive, enthusiastic, leadership in a respectful and trusting atmosphere. They will have superior technical skills and the ability to motivate players to do their best in a positive team environment. They will coach and lead team New Brunswick athletes at the U16 and U18 age levels in tackle football inside and outside of the province. Eligibility for Selection To be eligible for selection coaches must meet the following criteria: Be a current coach at the minor, high school or university level in New Brunswick and a) Have completed the “Introduction to Competition” course in the new NCCP complete with at least one “skill” position or b) Have completed the old NCCP level 2 and be willing to complete the new NCCP Introduction to Competition phase (Ethics and Intro to Contact) prior to the season or c) be trained a Learning Facilitator for the NCCP Introduction to Competition Selection Process Interested coaches should submit their “football resume” to Dave Blanchard, Technical Director, Football New Brunswick at tdfootballnb@gmail.com by 17 Feb 2012 Coaching resumes will be reviewed by a selection committee consisting of the Technical Director FNB, President FNB, and Chairman of the FNB Tackle Committee. The selection committee will conduct interview(s) as required either via phone or in person. FNB shall cover reasonable expenses to attend interviews if required. Coaches selected for provincial teams will be required to submit to the TD - FNB a copy of a current (within one calendar year) police background check. Positional Criteria The head coach will designate his Offensive or Defensive coordinators from the positional coaches of the U18 and the U16 team respectively. Positional coaches will be asked to develop skills and drills for their specific position, analyse performance of their athlete`s, develop a depth chart for each position and assist with player selection. They will also work with the head coach and the offensive or defensive coordinator to analysis opposing teams systems. |
